Manufacturers Readying Windows Phone 7 Mango Devices For September To Fight Against iPhone 5
Sources in Taiwan claim that current Windows Phone 7 vendors will reveal a new set of smartphones during September in order to compete with the next-gen Apple iPhone 5. Phone makers are scared that Apple will distance itself from the rest of the pack like Nokia had done for the past 15 yearstherefore they need to prevent a monopoly with the launch of new Windows Phone 7 devices.
Smartphone makers are finally pleased with the level of Windows Phone 7 thanks to the Mango update which is on par with other mature OSs like Android and iOS. According to sources from part suppliers, HTC, Samsung, and LG will all release smartphones powered by Windows Phone 7 Mango as of September.
The most active Windows Phone 7 vendor will be HTC as the Taiwan-based company will release a plethora of devices with displays between 3.8-inch to 4.7-inch. We’ve hear numerous reports of HTC WP7 Mango handsets including yesterday when the Ignite and Prime were leaked on a Dutch website, but the reported size of the touchscreens was 3.7-inch.
Anyway, the rumors fall into place with the 4.7-inch display size as HTC is preparing to the launch of Eternity, a monster device just at the edge of smartphones and tablets.
The above three companies won’t be the only firms to release WP7 phones this September as ZTE and Acer will also join this market. We shouldn’t forget about the Fujitsu Toshiba IS21T, a WP7 Mango device officially revealed this week that sports a 13.2-megapixel camera on the back and an interesting design among others.
Sources claim that the HTC WP7 handsets will be powered by the same 1.5GHz CPU found in the HTC Flyer Android tablet which is already available in several markets across the globe.
Nokia is expected to release its first Windows Phone 7 device this September as the Sea Ray has made a couple of cameos earlier this month.
Microsoft and analysts promise a lot of good things for Windows Phone 7, but for the moment it’s only talk. The consumers have grown tired of this talk and we should see some action. Steve Ballmer should come up with a perfect marketing plan for this fall to overshadow Apple’s iPhone 5.
