Enjoy 3G services on the new Apple iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy II in India
Major handset makers- Apple and Samsung are making new strides in the competitivesmartphone segment. This time with the launch of Apple iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S II in India, which will deliver a true 3G experience to users within the country.
While Apple product starts at Rs 34,500, Samsung's latest phone is priced at Rs 32,890.
The iPhone 4 will be launched on Aircel's network starting May 27 with a new pricing model. Bharti Airtel, India's largest mobile phone operator (by subscriber-base) with more than 162 million subscribers will also launch the iPhone 4 on the same day.
Aircel offers flexible service plans for both post-paid and pre-paid mobile customers. The 16GB model requires you to pay Rs. 34,500 upfront while the 32GB version will be priced at Rs. 40,900. Customers will have the opportunity to recover 100 per cent of their upfront iPhone cost in monthly credits on their service plan over 24 months.
The iPhone 4 will have a 3.5inch display with 640 X 960 pixel resolution, two cameras and a 5-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash. The handset will pose a sharper screen and will support video-chat features, thereby giving competition to devices running Google's Android software.
On the other side, Samsung aims to set new standards of quality viewing and powerful performance on mobiles packed in a slim and modern design with the new Galaxy S II. Powered by the latest mobile OS- Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the phone incorporates a 1.2GHz dual-core application processor and HSPA (high speed packet access) connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy II sports an 8megapixel camera, high-profile camera and camcorder with 1080p full HD recording and playback. For avid readers, Samsung has created a ‘reader's hub,' which provides over 2.2 million books and novels, 2,000 global and local newspapers in 49 languages and 2,300 popular magazines in 22 languages.
Galaxy S II will be exclusively available across the Vodafone channel from June 3 and across the Samsung Smartphone channel from June 9 on a pan-India basis. Samsung has already started online pre-bookings for Galaxy S II. You can pre-book a Galaxy S II online for Rs 1,000 and get exclusive online offers. Consumers buying a Galaxy S II will get 1GB of 3G data download free a month for six months from Vodafone.
